Dr. Brad Hnatiuk
Dr. Brad Hnatiuk MD, FRCPC (Diagnostic Radiology), FRCPC (Interventional Radiology), Diplomate ABR

Dr. Hnatiuk started with MIC as one of our staff IR’s in 2012. He is currently an Assistant Clinical Professor at the Department of Diagnostic Imaging at the University of Alberta and holds a Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons sub-speciality certification in Interventional Radiology.

Dr. Hnatiuk completed both his Medical School and Residency here at the University of Alberta and his Interventional Radiology Fellowship at the University of Toronto. He is a current member of SIR and CAIR.

Dr. Dermot McNally
Dr. Dermot McNally MD, Bsc Hons (Med Gen), MB Bch, BAO, FRCRI

Dr. McNally started with MIC as one of our staff IR’s in 2007. He is currently an Assistant Clinical Professor at the Department of Diagnostic Imaging at the University of Alberta.

Dr. McNally completed his Medical School at Queen’s University in Belfast and Residency at the West of Scotland Radiology Training Scheme. Dr. McNally’s Fellowship in Interventional Radiology was here at the University of Alberta. He is a current member of SSR.

Dr. McNally enjoys music and plays the piano, he plays soccer and coaches youth soccer as well.

Dr. Richard Owen
Dr. Richard Owen MD, MB B Ch, MRCP, FRCR, LMCC

Dr. Owen started with MIC as one of our staff IR’s in 2000. He is currently an Associate Professor University of Alberta; Co-Director Edmonton HHT Center; and Lead Physician of the Northern Alberta Vascular Malformation Clinic.

Dr. Owen completed Medical School at the University of Wales College, and his Residency for both Internal Medicine and Radiology were completed in the United Kingdom. Dr. Owen completed his Fellowship in Interventional Radiology at the Foothills Hospital in Calgary. He is a current member of BSIR, CIRSE, SIR, ISSVA, WAIS, CAIR, and served as Treasurer for the Canadian Association of Interventional Radiology (CAIR) from 2006-2012 and Scientific Program coordinator for the CAIR AGM 2007-2009. Before coming to Canada permanently, Dr. Owen also worked as a Staff IR at the Freeman Hospital in Newcastle, UK.

Dr. Owen enjoys skiing, wildlife photography, and Coaching soccer.

Dr. Rohan Parab
Dr. Rohan Parab MD, FRCPC (Diagnostic Radiology), FRCPC (Interventional Radiology)

Dr. Parab started with MIC as one of our staff IR's in 2019. He is currently an Assistant Clinical Professor at the Department of Diagnostic Imaging at the University of Alberta.

Dr. Parab completed his Medical School here in Edmonton at the University of Alberta, his Residency at the University of Alberta and Fellowship in Interventional Radiology at Dalhousie University. Dr. Parab also holds a Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons sub-specialty certification in Interventional Radiology.

Dr. Parab enjoys many outdoor activities such as hiking, running and mountain biking.

Dr. Chris Plewes
Dr. Chris Plewes MD, FRCPC

Dr. Plewes started with MIC as one of our staff IR's in 2016. He is currently an Assistant Clinical Professor at the Department of Diagnostic Imaging at the University of Alberta.

Dr. Plewes completed his Medical School at the University of Alberta and his Residency at the University of Saskatchewan. Dr. Plewes then returned to the University of Alberta to complete his Fellowship in Interventional Radiology. He is currently a member of SIR, ACR, CAR and CAIR. Dr. Plewes has interests in both programming and electronics.

Dr. Kiran Reddy
Dr. Kiran Reddy MBBS, MRes, FRCR

Dr. Reddy started with MIC as one of our staff IR's in 2022. He is currently a Clinical Lecturer at the Department of Diagnostic Imaging at the University of Alberta.

Dr. Reddy completed his Medical School at King's College London, United Kingdom and his Residency at Guy's and St. Thomas' Hospitals London, United Kingdom. This was followed by a Fellowship in Interventional Radiology here at the University of Alberta. He is a member of SIR, CAIR, CIRSE and CAR.

Dr. Reddy enjoys strategic tabletop games and racing electric model cars (1/10th scale) when not spending his free time with his young family!

Dr. Jeremy L. Rempel
Dr. Jeremy L. Rempel MD, FRCPC (Diagnostic Radiology), FRCPC (Neuroradiology), Diplomate ABR

Dr. Rempel started with MIC as one of our Interventional and Diagnostic Neuroradiologists in 2012. He is currently an Assistant Clinical Professor of Radiology and Neurosurgery at the University of Alberta.

Dr. Rempel completed his Medical School at the University of Manitoba, and his Residency at Memorial University in St. John’s NL. Dr. Rempel then completed his fellowship in Interventional Neuroradiology at the University of Toronto. Dr. Rempel also holds his Royal College certification in Neuroradiology as well as Diagnostic Radiology.

Dr. Rahim Samji
Dr. Rahim Samji MD, FRCPC

Dr. Samji started with MIC as one of our staff IR’s in 2012. He is currently an Assistant Clinical Professor at the Department of Diagnostic Imaging at the University of Alberta.

Dr. Samji completed his Medical School at the University of Calgary and Residency here at the University of Alberta. Dr. Samji’s Interventional Radiology Fellowship was at the University of Toronto. He is a current member of SIR, CAIR and ASR.

Dr. Samji is active in Youth Coaching both in Soccer and Hockey.

Dr. Philippe Sarlieve
Dr. Philippe Sarlieve MD, CPSA

Dr. Sarlieve started with MIC as one of our staff IR’s in 2008. He is currently an Assistant Clinical Professor at the Department of Diagnostic Imaging at the University of Alberta.

Dr. Sarlieve completed his Medical School at the Université Louis Pasteur, Strasbourg, France and Residency at the Université de Franche-Comté, Besancon, France. While there he was Ancien Chef de Clinique Assistant des Hôpitaux. Dr. Sarlieve completed his Abdominal Imaging Fellowship and his Interventional Radiology Fellowship at the University Health Network in Toronto, Canada. He is currently a member of CAIR, CIRSE.

Dr. Sarlieve is an avid cyclist.

Dr. Navi Shergill
Dr. Navi Shergill MD, FRCPC, Diplomate ABR

Dr. Shergill started with MIC as one of our staff IR’s in 2012. He is currently an Assistant Clinical Professor at the Department of Diagnostic Imaging at the University of Alberta.

Dr. Shergill completed his Medical School at the Saba School of Medicine and Residency at the University of Missouri, Kansas City. Dr. Shergill’s Interventional Radiology Fellowship was here at the University of Alberta. He is a current member of SIR, CAIR, RSNA, ARRS, ABR and Car.

Dr. Gillian Shiau
Dr. Gillian Shiau MD, FRCPC, Diplomate ABR

Dr. Shiau started with MIC as one of our staff IR's in 2016. She is currently an Assistant Clinical Professor at the Department of Diagnostic Imaging at the University of Alberta.

Dr. Shiau completed her Medical School at the University of British Columbia and Residency at the University of Calgary. Dr. Shiau then travelled to Halifax, Nova Scotia and completed her Fellowship in Interventional Radiology at Dalhousie University. Dr. Shiau enjoys cycling, hiking and playing the piano.

Dr. Harneil Sidhu
Dr. Harneil Sidhu MD, FRCPC (Diagnostic Radiology), FRCPC (Interventional Radiology)

Dr. Sidhu started with MIC as one of our staff IR’s in 2006. He is currently an Assistant Clinical Professor at the Department of Diagnostic Imaging at the University of Alberta.

Dr. Sidhu completed his Medical School at the University of Western Ontario, his Residency at the University of Alberta and his Fellowship in Interventional Radiology at the University of Virginia. He is a current member of SIR, CAIR and the American College of Phlebology.

Dr. Sidhu enjoys bicycling and is an active participant in Renewable Energy.

Dr. Owen Stechishin
Dr. Owen Stechishin PhD, MD, FRCPC (Diagnostic Radiology), CAQ (Neuroradiology), Diplomate ABR

Dr. Stechishin started with MIC as one of our Interventional and Diagnostic Neuroradiologists in 2022.

Dr. Stechishin completed his Medical School at the University of Alberta, and his Residency at the University of British Columbia. Dr. Stechishin then completed a Neuroradiology fellowship at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, NC followed by an Endovascular Surgical Neuroradiology fellowship at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, TX. Dr. Stechishin also holds subspecialty certification in neuroradiology from the American Board of Radiology. He is a member of the Society of Neurointerventional Surgery.

Outside of work, Dr. Stechishin enjoys hiking and traveling.
